Went for a bike ride this morning at 5am, you know, capture some of that cool crisp air before the expected searing heat embarks…. The breathing technique I chose for the ride was inhale two seconds and exhale as long as possible into my diaphragm and then hold my breath until the pain factor is unbearable. This often followed with coughing but it was worth it. I know a little extreme but the impact was bliss. You see, when I exercise my diaphragm I don’t get any breathing contractions. The correlation is so strong. Lately its been my barometer to my lung strength. I should also write, my regular breathing technique when cycling is Inhale 2 seconds, hold for eight seconds, exhale for four seconds and end with holding my breath for a further two seconds, then repeat… Cheers!
